Awards and Scholarships

ISNA values the opportunity to honor its members who have gone "above and beyond" in different aspects of their positions. Members are encouraged to nominate other members to receive the awards summarized below.  Awards are presented at the annual Spring Training Seminar and Awards Luncheon each May.

 Mary Ann Schlarb Single Unit Scholarship

This scholarship award recognizes a member at the state level is given to a person who is judged to have made a significant contribution to both the local and state association.  The reimbursable $500 scholarship money is to be used for professional development activities.

  • Employed in school foodservice for a minimum of five (5) years
  • Currently employed as a Field Coordinator, Supervisor, Manager or Assistant Director
  • Member of ISNA/SNA for a minimum of three (3) years·        
  • Assisted with at least one ISNA Regional workshop, served on and ISNA Board Committee or ISNA Conference Committee, or held a Board position on a local chapter
  • Involved in the school and community by sharing knowledge and food service expertise
  • Credentialed, SNA Certified, or has completed 20 hours of extended ISNA approved training within the past 5 years
  • Exhibits dedication, loyalty, compassion and understanding in the role they play in the food service operation

  • Held an office position of secretary, office assistant, treasurer, computer coordinator or office manager
  • Member of ISNA/SNA for a minimum of three (3) years
  • Assisted with at least one ISNA State or Regional workshop, or served on an ISNA Board or Conference committee, or held a Board position on a local chapter
  • Assists Director in organization, planning, promotion and function of of the school food service program
  • Plays an active role in promoting the food service program in their district
  • Exhibits dedication, support, loyalty, and understanding of school food service programs
  • Steps up and goes the “Extra Mile” towards excellence in their district
