The Indiana School Nutrition Association is committed to providing education, programs, and services that promote quality child nutrition. Throughout the year, ISNA offers a variety of professional development opportunities designed to support school nutrition professionals at every stage of their careers.

Professional Development for Every Stage of Your Career

Whether you are a director looking to strengthen your leadership skills, a manager ready to take the next step, or a school nutrition professional looking to expand your knowledge, ISNA offers opportunities to help you grow.

ISNA's professional development offerings include:

  • Annual State Conference, featuring multiple days of education, networking, and opportunities to learn from industry and school nutrition professionals.

  • Director Retreat, designed specifically for director-level professionals and focused on networking, leadership, and valuable insights for school nutrition programs.

  • Director's Series Certificate Course, providing targeted professional development for those in school nutrition leadership.

  • Summer Manager Training, offering managers an opportunity to expand their leadership skills.

  • Additional professional development opportunities, including SNA Certificate Programs, SNS credentialing resources, IDOE SNP trainings, and the SN STAR Program.

But one program deserves a special spotlight.

Take the Next Step with the ISNA/IDOE School Nutrition Certificate Program

The ISNA/IDOE School Nutrition Certificate Program is a unique opportunity for Indiana school nutrition professionals who want to build their knowledge, strengthen their professional credentials, and take the next step in their careers.

Created through a partnership between the Indiana School Nutrition Association and the Indiana Department of Education, the program was developed specifically to add value to the school nutrition profession in Indiana and qualifies as a State Recognized Certificate as defined by USDA.

The program is designed to be completed within two years and consists of 17 targeted courses specifically designed for Indiana. ISNA is also actively promoting the certificate to superintendents and school business officials as a credential to consider when hiring school nutrition professionals.

Courses Are Open to Everyone

You don't have to be enrolled in the certificate program to participate in the courses. Courses are available to everyone, with preference given to individuals enrolled in the ISNA/IDOE School Nutrition Certificate Program.

For those looking to get started, current course fees are $90 per three-hour course for ISNA members and $130 for non-members.

Your Professional Development Journey Starts Here

One of the greatest benefits of being part of ISNA is having access to a professional community that believes in continuous learning. Membership provides opportunities to participate in professional education at reduced registration costs, attend conferences and regional events, network with other foodservice professionals, and grow through certificate programs and credentialing.
